I recently visited Deer Meadows for a archery hunt. Being from the Midwest, the spot and stalk style hunting was completely different from sitting in a tree waiting for the deer to come to me. Deer Meadows staff passed on their knowledge and tips, that now it will be hard to sit in the stand without getting out and trying the adrenaline rush of the stalk. The entire staff was beyond welcoming and friendly. Within minutes of arriving I felt at home which you don't get anywhere else. The hospitality and the food is outstanding, if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. In my opinion, your guide is your ticket to a successful hunt, and I can see why Deer Meadows has the highest opportunity rate for mature bucks in the state, as all of their guides are exceptional at what they do. We were on mature deer within the first day. When you book your hunt with Deer Meadows, I promise you won't be disappointed as they made this truly a trip of a lifetime for me and am booking a return trip soon.

My wife set up my first trip to Deer Meadows as a gift. Almost a year later I made my first trip to hunt with this experienced outfitter. The staff was amazing and made me feel welcome. What a hunting trip. The Sandhills in Nebraska are unreal, the spot and stalk mule deer hunting was incredible. I can't wait to go back on another hunt. I hunted with Deer Meadows for the first time in November of 2016 and killed a great Muley the first morning of the hunt. My passion is Mule Deer hunting and Deer Meadows offers some of the finest Mule Deer hunting in the world – bar none!!! They have extensive access to prime land in the Sandhills and you have a solid chance to kill a 190 class buck with a realistic chance of a 200 class buck. Travis Kuhn was my guide and he will be my guide again this November as he was fantastic. I plan on hunting at Deer Meadows every year until I leave this planet for life above!!

As an avid whitetail hunter from Southeast Missouri, about seven years ago, I decided to go with a friend to Deer Meadows Outfitters to see what spot and stalk archery mule deer hunting was all about. Nearly a decade later, this year will be the fourth time I have visited Deer Meadows Outfitters for an archery mule deer hunt. After the first three hunts one thing has become very evident: When it comes to having an opportunity to get a shot to harvest a mature, trophy mule deer, Deer Meadows Outfitters has to be at the top of the list! As a hunter, what more could you ask for than maximizing the odds at getting a great opportunity at a trophy mule deer. At Deer Meadows, they'll go all out to make sure that's exactly what you'll get. Out of the first three trips, two resulted in kills and the other with a miss. The guides are not only extremely professional at what they do, they are even better people and genuinely care about your success as a hunter and make the experience special. Their knowledge of the ranches and overall deer movement is comprehensive and makes each hunt the ultimate game of cat and mouse. Not to mention, they make certain you never go hungry in the process. As an outfitter, it has also become clear that they care very much about the quality and health of their deer herd. Each visit it seems like there are not only a larger number of deer, but the quality continues to get even better. My last visit was more than a hunt. It was about making memories with my dad and is one hunt that I will never forget. Within the first three hours of the first day, my dad almost closed the deal on a trophy, 160-inch class, mature buck but it just didn't work out. Each day consisted of seeing anywhere from 15 to 30 different bucks with an opportunity for at least one stalk per day on a mature trophy. At times, we actually had to wait for larger bachelor groups to separate because there were just too may deer; not exactly a bad problem. Finally, on day five of the hunt, everything came together and my dad was able to harvest a 170-inch class mule deer out a group of 10 different bucks; a moment I have replayed in my head for almost two years now and will never forget. It's this feeling why Deer Meadows will always have a special place in my hunting life. This year I look forward to traveling the Sandhills once again and being able to experience mule deer, whitetails, antelope, and other wildlife that walk this great Creation. I am confident Deer Meadows will continue to deliver year after year.

We rifle hunted in 2017 and when we came in everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The guides were very hard working. We went out hunting from dark to dark and saw probably 70 deer a day. It is a fair chase glass and stalk hunt. If you like open country mule deer hunting during the peak of the mule deer rut this is a good place to be. The accommodations aren't fancy, but they are clean, comfortable and the food is great.

Scott, I want to compliment you on an amazing rifle hunt that I had with you at Deer Meadows November 2017. Your guide crew was not only well versed on hunting Mule deer in your area, but along with the cooks were very personable and helpful throughout my stay.

I was particularly impressed with your management efforts to keep the herd population at such high levels (saw lots of deer every day) and to grow big deer with trophy racks.

Where to begin? Let me start by saying this was my first spot and stalk mule deer hunt. I was pleasantly surprised on how the terrain is conducive to hunting mule deer with a bow. I've hunted with many outfitters and can tell you Deer Meadows is one of the best managed operations I've hunted with. From their hospitality, experienced guides, great food, lodging, and the caliber of mule deer you can't go wrong with this hunt!!

I totally enjoyed my 2019 Spring turkey hunt. Scott, Travis, and Emma made sure that Deer Meadows remains a premier outfitter in the Nebraska Sandhills. These people really know their business well and will guide you to a successful hunt. I am sitting here reminiscing about our hunt with Deer Meadows in Oct 2018. First and foremost THANK YOU for opening up your lodge to us. My son Zach and I felt right at "home" with you. We were greeted by your guides Travis and Riley, along with Scott and Emma. The set up you have is awesome and works really well for your hunters. The use of the washer and dryer was very much appreciated (sorry about the stickers in the dryer). We experienced Fall, Winter, and Spring all during our week with you and I was extremely impressed with our guide Riley. This young man has a true passion for the outdoors and it shows with every breath he takes. Our hunt was a management archery hunt and Riley did everything to get us on a deer, unfortunately due to weather/wind we were unable to get a deer. With the cook having hot meals .... yes 3 hot meals a day ready for hunters who are in this case cold and sweaty ready for them when they get back in was amazing to say the least.

Scott, you sir have a very well run operation! The atmosphere that you have created is wonderful. I have recommended your "hidden gem in the Sand Hills" to several of our friends. We saw deer every single day and GOOD bucks every day as well. Obviously when we are on a management hunt not all bucks are ones that we can go after. This is why we have already booked our rifle hunt for 2020 and look forward to seeing everyone then.
