Spring time in the Sandhills
The sights and sounds of the Nebraska Sandhills
The snow is melting and the days are getting warmer after a long cold winter in the sandhills of Nebraska. The days are getting longer and the birds are starting to return as the many lakes and ponds in the sandhills are melting away . It has been a very wet winter with many inches of snow leaving all the lakes and ponds at maximum capacity or above. The supply of water for spring and summer grass is above average levels and will be lush for the cattle and all the wildlife to enjoy. Years like this bring maximum antler growth and very healthy herds roaming the prairie. Years like this are also more favorable for the mule deer to produce twins and have them survive , and we all know what that means. A very abundant number of herds to hunt during the upcoming seasons. The green grass and the sun shinning all lead to a beautiful time of year in the sandhills of Nebraska. Take the time to checkout all that the sandhills has to offer and enjoy some well deserved time off in a place not so far away. The Nebraska Sandhills.!!!
