Turkey season winding down in Nebraska
As the days get longer and the temps start to rebound, the Nebraska sandhills start to change color. The hills start turning green, the waterfowl start returning and the sounds of spring fill the air. The daily duties of the rancher include feeding, checking the cows for any new arrivals, and for the older calves, branding and being moved to the summer pastures with the lush green grass. All the projects that have been put off due to the cold temps, are back on schedule for the summer. The hills come alive with the many different flowers that cover the sandhills of Nebraska, as well as the abundant wildlife that call the sandhills home. The beauty of the sandhills also is an attraction for the many people that want to venture out to somewhere different where there are very few tree's and wide open spaces. Located in the northwest part of Nebraska a go between for the travelers going to the Black hills of South Dakota or Mt. Rushmore near Rapid City.
