Sheridan County, in the beautiful northwest part of Nebraska, offers a hunt to remember. The scenic Sandhills along the wide-open meadows are a hunter's paradise. We lease over 200,000 acres of privately owned prime hunting ground. Our goal is to give you a hunting experience that can't be matched.

Our guides have extensive knowledge of the deer herds and their movements. We scout and monitor the deer patterns to offer you only the best opportunities. We provide transportation to and from the lodge and will be with you every step of the way. We will also care for your trophy after it's down. Professionally performed caping and skinning of your game will be provided. We do our best to accommodate requests for specific guides on a first-come-first-serve basis. In these situations, an extra charge is necessary for one-on-one guiding.

Rifle Hunts

Our rifle season starts in the middle of November and runs for nine days through the main rut for Nebraska. This hunt is very rewarding. On our ranches with over 200,000 acres, we keep the number of hunters to a minimum to give everyone plenty of room to roam. The hunt is for trophy bucks only. A trophy is considered to be a 4 1/2 year old buck or better. Call early for reservations, as this hunt books quickly. (Video of classic spot and stalk.)

Bow Hunts

Our archery season runs from September through October. The weather is usually warm with cool nights in September and October. Crossbows are legal in Nebraska. Either way, the hunting is great and done spot and stalk style.

Muzzleloader Hunts

Our black powder season runs the entire month of December. The deer feed and move about most of the day. You do hunt spot and stalk so bring your optics. The temperature at this time of year is usually cold, so dress warm. (More on muzzleloader hunts.)

  • All processing of the deer you kill is your own responsibility even if you are going to donate it. (Processing price varies by year and there is a small fee to have the deer caped)
  • There are no "last day deer" at Deer Meadows Outfitters. If you shoot a buck that is smaller than the guidelines, you will be fined $500 for a small deer kill.
  • A wounded deer, even if it's not recovered, is considered a kill, and your tag will be filled.
  • Opening an alcoholic beverage ends that day's hunt.
  • Extra days may be added for $1000 each day for muzzleloader and archery hunts only.
  • Prices do not include guide or cook gratuities which range from $500-$3000, at the guest's discretion
  • Your deposit is non-refundable. It guarantees your spot during the season. This is the only way we have to ensure that we reserve spots for paying hunters.
